How to apply for shifts and what happens after you put in an application
Applying for casual shifts
  1.  Go to Find Wok, click on the shift you want to apply

  2. Check out the Complete to Apply checklist on a shift card, then click Start Application to fulfill the compliances.
     

You can quick apply to shifts with matching compliances once your profile is complete.

Application for casual shift getting accepted
If a facility has accepted your application:
  • You will receive an email and an app notification confirming your booked shift
  • The shift will move to the Booked Work tab on the Find Work page

We strongly recommend that you read through the facility profile information (if you haven't already) to familiarise yourself with where to go, and any additional onboarding processes the facility may have in place.

      Set your preferences
      Use filters to help you find work that suits you. Save your preferences in filters and turn on notifications to receive alerts when new work matching your preferences is posted.

        We understand how frustrating it can be waiting to hear back about an application, rest assured your application has gone through. Each time you apply for a shift the facility will receive a notification of your application, it can take some time for booking managers to get around to reviewing these applications. We've found it can take between 12-36 hours depending on when the shift you've applied for is.

        If a facility has accepted your application you will receive an email and app notification to confirm this booking. Any booked shifts will also move to the Booked Work tab in My Work.

        Don't feel discouraged. Sometimes, shift booking managers may have to decline your application to a shift because:

        • They chose another practitioner who applied for the same shift and who they believe is better suited for the needs of the shift
        • Their shift needs have changed, so they have cancelled the shift
        • They require a more specialised practitioner with particular skills and/or experience for that particular shift. Although uPaged practitioners are not limited to working within their usual specialty and may apply outside their specialty, sometimes booking managers require specialised practitioners for the shift

        Our aim is to raise the standard of the contingent healthcare workforce and to achieve transparency around practitioner to patient allocations for both practitioners and managers. We highly encourage you to apply for other shifts available on the platform.

        Yes! uPaged practitioners are not limited to working within their usual speciality, we do encourage you to only apply for shifts within your scope of practice

        Via the uPaged platform, you are able to apply for shifts in any area you're interested in and if you feel competent. Booking managers can invite any practitioner they think would be a great fit.

        Just keep in mind, booking managers may require specialised practitioners for a particular shift. So don’t feel discouraged if you don’t get accepted for a shift that is outside your specialty.
