We understand how frustrating it can be waiting to hear back about an application, rest assured your application has gone through.
Each time you apply for a shift the facility will receive a notification of your application, it can take some time for booking managers to get around to reviewing these applications. We’ve found it can take between 12-36 hours depending on when the shift you’ve applied for is.

Don’t feel discouraged. Sometimes, shift booking managers may have to decline your application to a shift because:

  • They chose another practitioner who applied for the same shift and who they believe is better suited for the needs of the shift
  • Their shift needs have changed, so they have cancelled the shift
  • They require a more specialised practitioner with particular skills and/or experience for that particular shift. Although uPaged practitioners are not limited to working within their usual specialty and may apply outside their specialty, sometimes booking managers require specialised practitioners for the shift

Our aim is to raise the standard of the contingent healthcare workforce and to achieve transparency around practitioner to patient allocations for both practitioners and managers. We highly encourage you to apply for other shifts available on the platform.

Your compliance documents will usually be approved within 24 hours, over weekends and holiday periods this may take a little longer.

As per your employment contract and our Shift Cancellation Policy, if a facility cancels a booked or confirmed shift:

  • At least 2 hours before the start of the shift, you are not entitled to pay
  • Within 2 hours of the start of the shift, you are entitled to be paid for 2 hours of work.
  • A facility can cancel and remove a shift with a confirmed practitioner, but just note, uPaged takes shift cancellations very seriously.

    If you’re not able to apply for a shift you’ve seen this could be for one of the following reasons:

    • You’ve not completed and passed your uPaged Onboarding interview
    • You’ve not got all the Complete to apply checklist completed
    • Compliance documents need to be reviewed by the uPaged compliance team

    Please check the shift card for important information about uniforms for that facility. Typically, in NSW, you should wear plain navy scrubs to your shifts. Some facilities will provide you with a uniform at the start of your shift. Once you complete 5 shifts with us we will arrange a uPaged scrub top for you to wear on shift! You can find info about what the uniform requirements look like in the facility profile under the Important Info page.

    uPaged will provide you with a physical and digital photo ID card to be used & worn for all shifts completed with uPaged, we will need a picture for these cards.

    Timesheets will be available to sign off at the beginning of each booked shift within the Timesheet page of your uPaged profile. All timesheets must be signed off from this page by no later than 7:00 am Monday mornings.
