Mandatory Training

Mandatory training is core skills or abilities that are acquired through experience and learning. Must be proven to practice in most Australian healthcare organisations, through training and supervision. uPaged ensures our practitioners hold the minimum mandatory training to work in Australian healthcare facilities. You must provide current evidence of skills matching facility needs.

Mandatory training requirements 
We'll recommend mandatory training based on your desired shifts during profile setup.

Recommend "standard" training based on common facility requirements; individual facilities may have unique needs.


You will be informed if any other mandatory requirements are missing or out of date when applying for a shift with that facility.

For most hospital shifts, these include:

  • Fire and Evacuation
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Manual Handling
  • IV Medication Administration (RN & EN)
  • Medication (Drug) Calculation (RN & EN)
  • Hand hygiene
  • Infection Prevention & Control
  • Aseptic Technique (RN & EN)

Uploading my training 
Before uploading your documents, ensure that they all have:
  • Your full name
  • Date acquired 
  • Training name
  • Training organisation name
  • Clear images (PDFs or screenshots) 

We will not accept photos of computer screens, poor scanned copies or blurry photos.


    To upload your mandatory training evidence in your uPaged account simply:

    1. Click on Profile
    2. Go to the Mandatory Training tab in the Professional Profile section
    3. Click the + Add button
    4. Upload your supporting document/s
    5. Select item/s that are supported by this document
    6. Add the date/s the training was acquired
    7. Tick the declaration 
    8. Press Save 

    Note: While you can still continue to see and apply for shifts, facilities won't view your application until uPaged approves your documents; this process may take up to 24 hours.

    Popular FAQs 

    While a PDF document of the certificate downloaded from the training organisation is our gold standard, we can accept the following:

    • A screenshot from a web portal provided it is from a respected organisation and states your full name, date acquired and competence/pass OR
    • PDFs or screenshots need to be of an acceptable standard - that means no sideways photos, half screenshots and the full document must be visible and be easy to read OR
    • If you are unable to get certificates, we can accept transcripts providing the training requirement is easily found with all the requirements above on the document

    Mandatory training evidence must contain:

    • Your full name
    • Name of the training
    • Date the training was acquired
    • The name of the registered institution or organisation

    uPaged uses Go1 to host our training certificates. You will need to create a separate account with Go1 to access our training courses if you haven't already got one. We suggest setting an account up here

    This is dependant on the training and course provider, please double check by emailing us at hello@upaged.com before booking and paying for any training.
