Mandatory trainings are compliance requirements for working at healthcare facilities. The uPaged system ensures practitioners hold the specific and up to date mandatory training requirements to work each facility, as these can vary slightly.

Mandatory training requirements

We'll recommend mandatory training in your Checklist based on the preferences in Find Work. This is just a recommendation to have you compliant for all of the facilities with that match your preferences.

The specific mandatory training requirements for each facility can be seen when applying for jobs.

You will be notified if any of your training requirements are expiring or expired, as you'll need to keep these up to date in order to book jobs.

For most hospital shifts, these include:

Fire and Evacuation
Basic Life Support (BLS): Annual (CPR refresher accepted with evidence of BLS within 3 years)
Manual Handling
IV Medication Administration (RN & EN)
Medication (Drug) Calculation (RN & EN)

Hand hygiene
Infection Prevention & Control
Aseptic Technique (RN & EN)

Uploading my training

Before uploading your documents, ensure that they all have:

Your full name
Date acquired
The correct training course name
Training organisation name
And is a clear, easy to read document (PDFs or screenshots)

We will not accept photos of computer screens, poor scanned copies or blurry photos.

To upload your mandatory training evidence in your uPaged account simply:

Click on Profile
Go to the Mandatory Training tab in the Professional Profile section
Click the + Add button
Upload your supporting document/s
Select item/s that are supported by this document
Add the date/s the training was acquired
Tick the declaration
Press Save

Note: While you can still continue to see and apply for shifts, facilities won't view your application until uPaged approves your documents; this process may take up to 24 hours.

Popular FAQs

While a PDF document of the certificate downloaded from the training organisation is our gold standard, we can accept the following:

A screenshot from a web portal provided it is from a respected organisation and states your full name, date acquired and competence/pass OR
PDFs or screenshots need to be of an acceptable standard - that means no sideways photos, half screenshots and the full document must be visible and be easy to read OR
If you are unable to get certificates, we can accept transcripts providing the training requirement is easily found with all the requirements above on the document

Mandatory training evidence must contain:

Your full name
Name of the training
Date the training was acquired
The name of the registered institution or organisation

uPaged uses Go1 to host our training certificates. You will need to create a separate account with Go1 to access our training courses if you haven't already got one. We suggest setting an account up here

When you upload training certificates, you earn uCoin when it is approved by our team.

The cost of annual Basic Life Support or CPR refreshers can be reimbursed after you have completed 5 shifts on the platform, in the form of uCoin ($1 spent = 10 uCoin). In order for the training to be reimbused with uCoin, you must have prior approval by uPaged for the specific date and provider, and then send us your invoice and we will process the uCoin credit.
