Working with Notations

You may still work with a notation, if there is a notation on your AHPRA registration the team at uPaged will assess this and advise you if there is any further action required.

A notation records a limitation on the practice of a nurse/midwife. It is used to describe and explain the scope of a nurse/midwife’s practice by noting the limitations on that practice.

Firstly... congratulations! So within the last year, you:

  • Graduated with your Bachelor or Diploma of Nursing;
  • Finished your bridging program; or
  • Became registered with AHPRA

Yes - you can join uPaged and create a uPaged profile.

On-demand work requires a high level of skill and independence though, so most facilities ask for at least one year full-time equivalent i.e. 1786 hours of post-registration clinical nursing experience gained in an Australian Hospital.

However, we don't just offer work in hospitals. Other types of facilities may not require this amount of experience. It really depends on the shift and the facility. Facilities set the rules, not us. The onboarding specialist will be able to provide you more information of the types of work on our platform.

At this early stage of your career, you need the support of a permanent work environment to grow and develop your skills. Read our blogpost full of insider intel about securing your first nursing job - Graduate Programs - How To Find Your First Job In Nursing.

Contact AHPRA directly and let our onboarding team know as soon as possible if there have been changes to your registration status.

If you have a notation, let Steph and our onboarding team know when you are having your interview and our onboarding team will review on a case-by-case basis. Further information will need to be provided.
